Oh no - not another Routemaster book! Look out for an RM book with a difference. Routemaster - up

In this fully illustrated hardback limited edition book, transport enthusiast and former musician Paul Smith

gives a personal account of his encounters with London’s famous buses and relives some of his journeys

and experiences travelling with Routemasters.

Never one of the author’s all time ‘favourite’ bus types (often too red, too ‘London’ and never considered

as handsome as Derbyshire’s old Leylands!), Routemasters were - still are - Britain’s most recognizable

and much loved bus and the book, more of a photo-album, will take a tongue-in-cheek ride to many of

the places RMs were found, from Blackfriars to Blackpool and Strand to Stockton!

Red RMs, green RMs, old RMs, newly refurbished RMs, preserved RMs, open-top RMs, even the unique

single deck RM. They’re all included, with over fifty previously unpublished photographs by the author -

all in full colour. And - as a taster to whet the appetite! A series of 12 collector postcards is available,

featuring London’s iconic bus.

Set 1 includes 6 cards and shows Routemasters in London service during the last years of their lives on

the Capital’s streets. Routes featured include the 11, 13 and 23.

Set 2 has 6 cards, each of a preserved ‘heritage’ Routemaster including the prototypes RM1, which is

preserved as part of London Transport Museum’s operational collection and RM3, now with the Cobham

Bus Museum in Surrey.
